What is an Intermediate Swing Bed?
An Intermediate Swing Bed is designed to provide inpatient care for individuals who need assistance with daily living activities after a hospitalization or illness. At Hodgeman County Health Center, our Intermediate Swing Bed services offer a supportive environment where patients can recover and transition toward long-term care or back to their homes. While Medicare does not cover these beds, they can be covered privately through some Long Term Care Insurance and the Medicaid program. Intermediate Swing Bed Services at Hodgeman County Health Center
Our facility is equipped with 17 beds, most of which are private rooms. Each room includes:
Hi-Lo Bed: Provides easier access for getting in and out of bed.
Personal Amenities: Bedside table, dresser, and private bathroom.
Personalization: Residents are encouraged to personalize their rooms to create a comfortable, home-like environment.
Daily Life in an Intermediate Swing Bed
At Hodgeman County Health Center, we strive to create a nurturing and engaging environment for our residents. Here are some of the things you can expect from our Intermediate Swing Beds.
Meals: Served tableside with a selection of beverages, entrées, and sides.
Activities: Residents can enjoy live music, church services, bingo, gardening, movies, and more. We even have a friendly cat, Betty, who is a favorite among residents.
Social Connection: Our social services leader uses a tablet to help residents connect with loved ones through Zoom meetings.
Restorative Program: Overseen by our nursing department, this program encourages residents to maintain or improve muscle tone and mobility.
