In November of this year, Hodgeman County Health Center met the federal requirements for Meaningful Use Stage 2 and joined the small number of U.S. hospitals (approximately 17%) that have accomplished this milestone. HCHC met Meaningful Use Stage 1 in 2011.
Meaningful Use is defined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as using certified electronic health record (EHR) technology to:
- Improve quality, safety, efficiency, and reduce health disparities
- Engage patients and family
- Improve care coordination, and population and public health
- Maintain privacy and security of patient health information
HCHC administration and staff worked hard throughout this year to meet the CMS requirements for MU2 in an ongoing commitment to community health and quality medical care.
